74TH ANNUAL MONTEREY COUNTY FAIR TO FEATURE MILITARY DAY ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD

The 74th Annual Monterey County Fair (September 1-6, 2010) wants to honor our military! This year’s special Military Day will be held on Friday, September 3rd.  There will be free admission all day for all active duty military plus their dependents with military ID. Free parking will be available at Shoreline Community Church with transportation to and from the Fair by showing a pre-sale admission ticket. Pre-sale tickets and carnival tickets will be available at the MWR or ITT office on base. Special Carnival Pay One Price Wristbands will be available for $10 each, and wristbands for up to 4 people, can be purchased directly from the Carnival only on September 3rd.

There will also be Opening Ceremonies at 6:00 PM on Military Day with a Flag Ceremony. This special flag ceremony will take place at the Flying U Rodeo and David Drew Productions Bull O Rama Performance. Special Tickets to this performance are available to the military and their families for only $5.00 each.  The Fair will open to the community at Noon.

The community is invited to show their support for our troops, and they will receive one (1) ticket for entry to the Fair on September 3rd for every three (3) items from the following list that they bring into a Rabobank branch prior to August 31st, 2010, including cards and letters of support, beef jerky, black work socks, gum, popcorn, Crystal Light, hard candy, playing cards, cocoa, AA Batteries, individually wrapped hand wipes, travel-size toothpaste, travel-type toothbrushes,  travel-sized Gold Bond powder, travel-size solid deodorant, travel-size toilet paper, and travel-size shampoo. PLEASE NO AEROSOLS. This limited time offer ends August 31, 2010, and while ticket supplies last at participating Rabobank locations. Tickets are only good for entry to the Monterey County Fair on September 3rd, 2010, and are limited to 4 tickets per customer.

In 2009, over 70,000 community members enjoyed the wide array of great entertainment and educational displays featured at the Monterey County Fair.  The Monterey County Fairgrounds is a premiere event center set on 22 oak-studded acres with ample parking. It is home of the annual Monterey County Fair, host to many major and private events on the Central Coast, and the site of the Monterey Bay Race Place, a Satellite Wagering Facility. The Monterey County Fair is the 7th District Agricultural Association of the State of California.
