"THE FAIR IS IN THE AIR!" THEME CHOSEN FOR 2010 MONTEREY COUNTY FAIR.
FAIR WEEK TO MOVE TO LABOR DAY WEEK - SEPTEMBER 1-6, 2010.
"The Fair is in the Air!" has been chosen as the special theme of the 2010 Monterey County Fair. In addition, the dates of the Monterey County Fair will move from mid-August to Wednesday, September 1 through Monday, September 6, 2010, including Labor Day Weekend.
"The Fair is in the Air!" refers to all of the wonderful sights, sounds, smells, and tastes that all Fairgoers enjoy during the Monterey County Fair. The community's anticipation and excitement always builds until "The Fair is in the Air" during Fair week.
The community is invited to come out and enjoy a feast for the senses, including delicious Fair food and Monterey County wine, outstanding entertainment, the best of local produce and livestock, educational exhibits, special contests, and much, much more," explains Kelly Violini, CEO of the Monterey County Fair.
The Fair features great education, entertainment, and lots of family fun at our beautiful landscaped setting at the Monterey County Fairgrounds.The Monterey County Fair dates were moved to accommodate the schedule of participants that are critical to the success of the Fair, including the carnival and other vendors. According to Kelly Violini, Fair CEO, "The California State Fair shifted their dates for their 2010 Fair which caused a major impact and ripple effect for other Fairs.
We are very excited about holding the Monterey County Fair during the Labor Day holiday period when families can come out and celebrate the Fair together!

Volunteer at the Monterey County Fair
We welcome all persons interested in becoming a part of the Fair through volunteering. We rely on our great volunteers to make our annual Fair a successful community event. There is wide variety of jobs available that require the help of volunteers to ensure success. There is so much talent our community members have to offer us.
