The Monterey County Junior Fairboard was created with the purpose to promote the Monterey County Fair, especially those parts pertaining to the livestock department. Members are also provided the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills, gain further knowledge of the operating side of the Fair industry as well as perform community service.

The Monterey County Fair Junior Fairboard can have as many as 25 active members who all play an important role in the success of the annual fair.  Some responsibilities of the Jr. Fairboard include assisting with the operation of the livestock department during fair, setup and clean up of the Jr. Livestock Auction, assist with entry receiving in the exhibit buildings, help carry out various tasks involved in the success of the Monterey Bay Classic and fundraise to help the Fair with livestock awards and various projects to benefit our exhibitors and patrons.  Our Junior Fairboard is guided by Kurt Nelson, Fair CEO Kelly Violini, and Lauren Heath.

Applications for potential Jr. Fairboard Members are always being accepted and interviews are conducted at every meeting throughout the year.  Interested parties may download and complete an application HERE, then return it to:
