  • INSIDE THE MONTEREY FAIRGROUNDS

    The Fairgrounds are nestled on 22 oak-studded acres located in the city and county of Monterey. The Fairgrounds consists of eight buildings of varying sizes, two outdoor music arenas and a horse show arena.

    The Fairgrounds is host to two outdoor arena's. The larger arena comfortably seats 5,850 and our other arena seats 2,000. Our larger arena is home to:

  • Monterey Jazz Festiva
  • four major Horse Shows
  • Fair Headline Acts
  • and many more events.


  • The Fairgrounds has seven buildings available to rent for special events. The buildings range from 400 to 7,100 square feet and can accommodate 20 to 1,000 people. The Turf Club is decked in oak and brass with a huge stone fireplace and an open patio with heaters.

    The Satellite Horse Racing Facility is active year-round. It offers "at track" odds and payouts from Golden Gates Fields, Santa Anita, Bay Meadows, Del Mar, Cal Expo and Woodbine.

    History Facts:

    • Fairs have been held in the Monterey County since 1935.
    • The arenas have hosted some of the finest musicians in history: Duke Ellington, Billy Dean, Carlos Santana, Dave Brubeck, Sarah Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix.

    Facilities


    Turf Clup Restaurant & Patio:

    Decorated in oak & brass with stone fireplace, built-in-bar & entrance fountain. Ideal for wedding receptions, banquets & holiday gatherings.

    • 5,500 square feet. Maximum capacity 300
    • $4 per person charge
    • $200 minimum price
    • $200 for Turf Club Patio only

    Pattee Arena

    Pattee ArenaThe Pattee Arena Stage has 500 amps of power, three dressing rooms and elevated seating on both sides of the stage. Concert rental is $3,000. Additional fee for chair rental and set up. Concert capacity with seats on floor of Arena is 5,800. Box seat/bleacher seating around the arena is 2,000 +. The arena is also perfect for horse shows. Horse show rental is $900 per day which includes warm up ring, horse show office and two water and drags. Square footage of the arena is 76' x 36' x 5.5'.

    Monterey Room

    Monterey Room Monterey Room is a banquet-style room with carpet, built in 30 x 30 wooden dance floor, built-in bar, P.A. sound system.  It is best utilized for weddings, banquets and upscale events.  The room rental is $900.00 per day / 7,140 Square feet.  Maximum capacity is 1,000 theater style or 500 for dinner.  Kitchen Facilities are available for $300.00.

    Salinas Room

    Salinas RoomThe Salinas Room has a solid surface floor, and is perfect for dances, quinceaneras, trade shows, and casual banquets. Rental price is $675.00 per day for 7,000 square feet. Maximum capacity for theater style event is 1,000. Maximum capacity for banquet is 350.

    King City Room

    King City Room The King City Room has a solid surface floor, and is perfect for dances, quinceaneras and casual banquets.  Rental price is $675 per day for 7,000 square feet.  Maximum capacity theater style is 1,000.  Maximum capacity for a sit down dinner is 350.

    East and West Art Buildings

    East Art BuildingThe building features cement floors.  Great for classroom environments, seminars and small get togethers.  Approximately 2,000 square feet.  Maximum capacity is 150.  Rental fee is $300.00 per day.

    Craft Room

    The Craft Room features a carpeted floor and is great for meetings/seminars. 1,500 Square feet (52x28') Rental Fee is $200 per day. Maximum capacity 100 .

    Peyton Garden Stage

    Garden StageThe Garden Stage can be used for a concert or company picnic. Concert rental is $1,500 for the day and includes 4 sets of bleachers and 30 benches for seating up to 540 people. The capacity of the Garden Stage is 1,500 +. Picnic rental is $250.00 or $350.00 if electricity is needed. Picnic rental includes 10 picnic tables. Picnic capacity is 1,000 +.

    • Cost is $35 per night per vehicle.
