2012 Contests

The Monterey County Fair is having a poster contest to determine its 2012 Fair Poster Art. This is a great opportunity for you to use your imagination and begin to enjoy the fun of the Fair early in the year. If you like to draw, paint, collage or do some other type of two-dimensional artwork this is for you!

This contest is held in conjunction with the 2012 Theme Contest.  All entrants should use “Strawberries” as their inspiration in creating their entry.  All entrats must be 18 years old or older and need not be a resident of Monterey County. 

Fair Poster entries must be submitted to the Fair office no later than Tuesday, November 15, 2011 by 4:00 pm and include the official entry form with entrants name, mailing address, phone number and e-mail. Please see the entry form for further rules and regulations.

2012 POSTER CONTEST ENTRY FORM 

The Monterey County Fair invites the Public to Create a “Berry” Theme for the 2012 Fair. The Monterey County Fair officials are challenging the public to submit their 2012 Fair theme ideas utilizing “Berries” as inspiration. Slogans should be eight words or less and can include some form of the word “Berry” and need not rhyme. Multiple theme ideas can be submitted per entrant in list form in e-mail, fax or envelope.

Entrants can be of any age and need not be a resident of Monterey County. Entrant should consider catchy phrases and themes that will be easily translated into art form. Theme entries must be submitted to the Fair office no later than Tuesday, November 15, 2011 by 4:00 pm and include the official entry form with entrants name, mailing address, phone number and e-mail.

Our People’s Choice Tasting Event held on Thursday, September 1st went marvelously with approximately 250 tickets sold.  Guests in attendance were provided the opportunity to vote for their favorite red wine and white wine being poured at the event.  It is with great pleasure to announce that Hearst Ranch 2009 Sauvignon Blanc won for favorite white wine and J. Lohr 2008 Petite Sirah won for favorite red wine!
